A Little Bit About Me...

I have loved stories since I was a child. My family moved across the Atlantic to live in foreign countries when I was young, so the only friends I could bring with me were books. I would get lost in these stories and I really loved how a book felt in my hands. As I grew older, my reading habits grew more voracious. I brought two to three books everywhere I went because I read during every free moment I had.
I still carry at least one book everywhere I go, even if my reading is not as voracious as it once was. I love the weight of a book, the way the words look on the page, and the way it seems like a lot of care is taken into preparing these books for publication. I am delighted when there is an experimental layout choice in a book or when there are some fun illustrations that make the characters feel more real. The story is told not only through the words in the book, but also in the physical space the book takes up.
As I studied art, editing, and creative writing at Brigham Young University, I was able to delve deeper into my fascination with how books are made and how stories are told. I took a bookbinding class to learn how to handmake my own books and I was able to explore typesetting as a freshman when I got an internship with Future House Publishing. Unlike many of my peers, I developed a fierce love for Adobe InDesign and for typesetting.
There is nothing more satisfying than fixing formatting errors, illustrating scenes successfully, and designing book layouts to help elevate how a story is told. I am a typesetter, illustrator, and graphic designer for books. My goal is to help make your book beautiful by eliminating distractions that pull the reader out of the text and keep them focused until the end.

Coptic Binding Journal

A bookbinding project. I made the cover paper and end paper designs with acrylic paint and various brushes, sponges, and stamps. I also hand sewed the boards to the folios, the latter of which were wrapped in a more delicate, pink paper that was hand torn at the top.
"Familiars" Zine

A photography zine I made for my photography class final. I took the pictures, edited them, and compiled them into this zine. I also made the background project by using a glyph font and some auto generated text to make a design.
BYU Honors Program 2019 Year End Report

The statistic and community report for the BYU Honors Program 2019 school year. I worked on several elements of this, including statistic graphs and charts, page layout, and adding design elements to make the pages look more dynamic. I made sure the text wasn't lost if it was on an image and made sure text was spaced evenly on the page.
Social Media Branding

Design for personal social media branding for Twitch and Youtube.
Professional Branding

Mock ups made for professional branding projects.
Paper Trail GTAV Roleplay Sign

A logo design project for the Twitch streamer Kate for her GTAV Roleplay greeting card shop. The logo was on the sign for many on the roleplay server to see on a daily basis.
